The first weekend of August sees Hartington's first Gin and Jazz festival held at The Charles Cotton Hotel, set in the stunning Peak District National Park.

Great live music from talented local groups to internationally touring artists plus speciality gins and superb local ales provided by Hartington's own Whim ales. Wide range of great music Friday night Through to Sunday night Blues, Jazz, Funk and Soul. Food stands serving barbecue, and a special cocktail bar, along with Facepainting for children and and adults !

Acoustic blues duo who play classic Delta and Chicago blues and their own songs written in the Americana traditions follwed by at 9pm:

Led by Kenny Robertson it's everybody welcome playing any style - Rock and Roll, Punk, Acid-Jazz, Brass-Band ballads, Funk and Disco you name it - bring your voice, trumpet your spoons and washboard but most imprtantly yourself!

SOUL COOKER (featuring the HAGGIS HORNS)


7 piece band including members of The Haggis Horns who have worked for everyone from Jamiroquai & Amy Winehouse, Robbie Williams and many more - bringing a soul & funk party in the evening

THE HOUSE BAND - local jazz and blues favourites perform for your pleasure, rockin' the Cotton all over

JOHN ELLIS


Exceptional piano and vocals from the secret ingredient in albums by The Cinematic Orchestra, Lily Allen, Corinne Bailey Rae, Tom Jones, John Squire (The Stone Roses), DJ Vadim amongst many many others...

RODINA - Acoustica / Latin Singer-songwriter Aoife Hearty closes the festival with her beautiful voice and catchy songs backed by a great fiery 6 piece band.
